Lord Bhrama speaks “Oh! Devamune,
the ascetics of all the Lokas assembled in Bhramaloka when they came to know
about the divine children of Dhakshaprajapathi, I have pacified Dhaksha and
you, both are my sons, later I brought to you in my abode. Years have passed, Dhakshaprajapathi had
beautiful sixty daughters. Oh! Mune, the ten daughters were married to Dharma, thirteen daughters were married to
Sage Kashyapa, and twenty-seven daughters to Chandra, Sage Bhrigu, Sage
Angiras, and Krishashva have married two girls each. The six girls were married
to Garuda, in this way the sixty beautiful daughters had their own families in
the three worlds. Dhakshaprajapathi
after sending off all sixty daughters in a marriage, after that he proceeded to conduct penance with his
wife Virini, offered prayers to the Paramba, Bhagavathi, Jagathjanani. In an
auspicious moment, Dhakshaprajapathi and Virini engaged in Maithunshrishti,
thus Devi Virini got pregnant with the Jagadamba Paramba Bhagavathi. The presence of ShivA in the womb of Devi
Virini brought a huge transformation in her; she has achieved supreme beauty and
brilliance. Devi Virini attained supreme bliss, Dhaksha performed all those
austerities of Pumsavana, etc. and all those customary rites were performed, the
priests were offered with an abundance of Dhakshina as per their desire. Lord
Vishnu and deities were highly pleased to know that Jagadamba Bhavani
Jagathjanani has already entered in the womb of Devi Virini, all the deities
and sages praised the couple and prostrated before the Jagathjanani. On the auspicious time, Thithi, Devi Virini
gave birth to ShivA, everyone cheered at the birth of Devi, Bhagavathi. Devi Virini and Dhakshaprajapathi transported
to a state of ecstasy watching the loveliness and brilliance of the child. The
three worlds revealed the sign of auspiciousness and bliss at the birth of the divine
child, there was adequate rain, all the trees, plants, and creepers overloaded
with flowers, there was divine melodious music reverberated in the sky, there
was happiness all over the world.
Dhakshaprajapathi realized Jagathjanani, Paramba, Bhagavathi has taken
birth as his daughter, he eulogized the infant with folded hands.”
Dhaksha eulogizes Devi
Bhagavathi, Jagadamba, Jagathjanani “ Oh! Maheshani, Oh! Mother of the universe, Oh!Sanathani/primordial, kindly shower your auspicious grace on us.
Oh! Mahadevi, you are absolute truth, you are bliss personified on the Earth.
Oh! Devi, you symbolize auspiciousness, serenity, peace, Oh! Mahamaya, Oh!
Yoganidra who undertakes cosmic sleep, Oh! Jaganmayi, you are all-pervasive,
you represent Veda, and you are eulogized by Veda, Oh! Maheshani I shall
repeatedly prostrate before you. Lord Bhrama instructed me to expand the
creation, Oh! Maheshwari, Lord Vishnu was assigned with the preservation of the
Universe and its living beings, Oh! Jagadhdhathri, Oh! Maheshwari, Lord Shiva assigned to undertake the deluge
at the end of Yuga. I shall repeatedly prostrate before you. Oh! Jagathjanani,
you symbolize Rajas, Thamas, and Sathvik nature, you are the mother of the
trinities/Bhrama, Vishnu, and Shiva, you are the source of Universe and its
living beings, I shall repeatedly prostrate before you. Oh! Devi, you are beyond
Vidya Avidya, you are the purifier of the souls, you are the provider of
salvation from the repeated births. Oh! Jagathjanani, Oh! Bhavani, Oh! Jaganmatha,
Oh! Ambike, whoever worships you would attain your auspicious grace.”
Lord Bhrama speaks “Oh!
Narada, thus Dhakshaprajapathi eulogized the Jagathjanani with the brilliant
verses, Goddess Bhavani was highly pleased with the devotion of Dhaksha, she
spoke to him affectionately, which could be heard Dhaksha alone. Devi revealed
her presence as the daughter of him as promised earlier and advised him to continue
Tapasya. The supreme Goddess who has assumed the form of a beautiful infant
started crying loudly, soon all the women and attendants of the Palace of
Daksha assembled near Devi Virini. The women assembled before Devi Virini praised both
the mother and child of their beauty. The entire Kingdom cheered at the birth
of Jagathjanani as the daughter of Dhakshaprajapathi. The Kingdom reverberated
with music, and dances, people became extremely happy. Dhakshaprajapathi
conducted various traditional rites and offered an abundance of charities to
the Bhramin. The whole Kingdom
celebrated the birth of the divine child with music and dances for several days. Lord Hari, deities, Rishis, and Sages assembled
to receive a glance of that divine child. They eulogized Jagathjanani with
excellent verses and offered salutations to her. They praised Dhaksha and Devi
Virini to attain Jagathjanani as their child. Lord Hari and deities advised
Dhaksha to name the child ‘Uma’ who is the essence of virtues and
auspiciousness. She was addressed in various sacred names, which could remove
the miseries and sorrows of the worldly existence. Dhakshaprajapathi offered
salutation to deities, Hari, Rishis, and Sages assembled, contemplated upon
supreme Lord Shiva, returned to their respective abodes. All those Samskara/customary
rites of the newly born child were performed in a grand manner; Devi Virni happily
fed the child with her bosom milk. Thus, years have passed; Devi Uma was grown
to a beautiful young maiden with excellent virtues, with an abundance of love
and affection of Devi Virini and Daksha. Devi Uma engaged in various
amusements with the girls of her age was a great devotee of Lord Shiva. She
sung in praise of supreme Lord Mahadeva, she was grown keenly devoted to that
supreme Lord Shiva. Thus, ShivA has grown up with excellent virtues and skilled in
household chores, she highly pleased her parents with great love and devotion
to them. ”
