Chapter –76  – Rudra Samhitha/Sati Khanda – 15

Namo Bhagavathe Thubhyam Yatha Yethacharacharam | Purushaya Maheshaya Pareshaya Mahathmane ||Adhibeejaya Sarvesham Chithroopaya Paraya Cha | Bhramane Nirvikaraya Prakrithe: Purushaya Cha ||

Lord Bhrama speaks “Oh! Mune, once I have visited the abode of Dhaksha with you, I have noticed Devi Sati who is the essence of the Universe and its living beings, prostrated before us and her father Dhakshaprajapathi and took a seat reverentially. Daksha offered his salutations and provided a comfortable seat to us. I have blessed Devi Sati that she would achieve an appropriate companion as a wedded husband, and both will have blissful life together. I have advised her that she would achieve the Lord who is the knower of all as her wedded husband; she would achieve a flawless groom, and remain inseparable from him. We both happened to live in the abode of Dhaksha for a long time, after that we have returned our abode. Daksha and Devi Virni were highly devoted to their daughter who is none other than the supreme Goddess Parameshwari, Jagathjanani, Paramba, Bhagavathi. Devi Uma who was personified as Dhakshayani at her own will performed various amusements with her female companions enticed everyone with her loveliness. Years have passed, Devi Uma attained the youthful age, and she has achieved the most beautiful appearance with her austerities and Tapasya. Daksha felt extremely happy watching his daughter growing to an attractive young maiden; on the back of the mind, he was anxious to offer such a tender and delicate daughter as a wedded wife to Lord Shiva. Devi Sati who was born to unite with her inseparable companion Lord Shiva was anxious to meet him and achieve him as a wedded husband. Devi Sati understood the anxieties stirred the mind of her father; therefore she approached her mother Devi Virni. Devi Sati Parameshwari spoke “Oh! Mother, I would like to conduct Tapasya to achieve that supreme Lord Mahadeva as a wedded husband, seeking both of your permission to undertake the Tapasya.” Thus Devi Sati engaged in the sincere veneration of supreme Lord Mahadeva. On an auspicious day in the month of Ashwini, on a fortnight she conducted elaborate worship of Lord Shiva and offered rice with jaggery, and rice with salt as Naivedhya. In the month of Karthik on the auspicious Paurnami day, she adored LordMahadeva, and offered sweet puddings as Neivedhyam. On the eighth day of Margashirsha Devi Sati adored Lord Mahadeva and offered cooked barley and sesame seeds as Neivedhyam. In the month of Pausha, on a Paurnami, Devi Sati conducted veneration of Mahadeva, and spend that night awake, on the next day she offered Krisharannam/cooked rice as Neivedhyam. In the month of Magha, on the Paurnami day, Devi Sati conducted veneration of Mahadeva, and she was awake in the whole night, and in the early hours conducted the worship of Lord Shiva on the river bank.  In the month of Phalguna, Amavasya, Devi Sati undertook the veneration of Lord Shiva, and kept her awake in the night, and conducted the worship of Lord Shiva with bale leaves and fruits, every three hours. In the month of Chaithra, on a Paurnami day, Devi Sati worshiped Lord Shiva with the flowers day and night. In the month of Magh, on a Paurnami day, Devi Sati worshiped Lord Mahadeva and offered cooked rice and sesame seeds as Neivedhyam. She consumed only the dairy products in the whole month and engaged in the worship of the Lord. Devi Sati conducted the worship of Lord Shiva in the month of  Jyeshta on a Paurnami day with the Bhrahathi flowers, and observed fast throughout the month. In the month of  Ashada on a Paurnami day, Devi Sati attired in a black robe undertook the worship of Lord Rudra with the Bhrahathi flowers. On the eighth and fourteenth day of the month Shravana, she conducted the worship of Lord Mahadeva and offered Yajjopaveetha and clothe to the Lord. On the thirteenth day of Amavasya in the month of Bhadrapada, Devi Sati worshiped Lord Shiva, undertook fast on the day, offered fruits and flowers to Lord Shiva as Neivedhyam. In this way, Devi Sati undertook strict austerities and worship of Lord Mahadeva with various flowers, leaves, and fruits.  Devi Sati carried out Nandhavrath, fasting on the day and conducted elaborate worship of Lord Mahadeva. The deities and Sages were highly pleased watching the sincere devotion of Devi Sati. We/Lord Vishnu and myself, Devi Lakshmi and Devi Saraswathi along with the Rishis and sages arrived in the place where Devi Sati was undertaking penance, the supreme Goddess who was incarnated as the daughter of Daksha has already achieved the highest of the form of an enlightened soul with her continuous austerities and Tapasya. We have prostrated before the supreme Goddess and praised her, and proceed to Mount Kailash. We stood before that supreme Lord, great Yogi with folded hands, and praised his endless splendor.”

The deities and Sages eulogized the supreme Lord Shiva with folded hands “Oh! Bhagavan, Oh! Lord of living and non-living things, Oh! Purusha, Oh! Mahesha, Oh! Paresha,  Oh! Chapter –75  – Rudra Samhitha/Sati Khanda – 14

Maheshani  Namashtubhyam Jagadambe Sanathani | Kripam Kuru Mahadevi Sathye  Sathyaswaroopini || ShivA Shantha  Mahamaya  Yoganidra Jaganmayi | Ya  Prochyathe  Vedavibhirnamami Thvam Hithavaham || Yaya Rudro Jagannasho Niyukthastham Sadhakaroth | Tham Thvam Namami Parmam Jagadhdhathrim Maheshwarim ||

Lord Bhrama speaks “Oh! Devamune, the ascetics of all the Lokas assembled in Bhramaloka when they came to know about the divine children of Dhakshaprajapathi, I have pacified Dhaksha and you, both are my sons, later I brought to you in my abode.  Years have passed, Dhakshaprajapathi had beautiful sixty daughters. Oh! Mune, the ten daughters were married to  Dharma, thirteen daughters were married to Sage Kashyapa, and twenty-seven daughters to Chandra, Sage Bhrigu, Sage Angiras, and Krishashva have married two girls each. The six girls were married to Garuda, in this way the sixty beautiful daughters had their own families in the three worlds.   Dhakshaprajapathi after sending off all sixty daughters in a marriage, after that he proceeded to conduct penance with his wife Virini, offered prayers to the Paramba, Bhagavathi, Jagathjanani. In an auspicious moment, Dhakshaprajapathi and Virini engaged in Maithunshrishti, thus Devi Virini got pregnant with the Jagadamba Paramba Bhagavathi.  The presence of ShivA in the womb of Devi Virini brought a huge transformation in her; she has achieved supreme beauty and brilliance. Devi Virini attained supreme bliss, Dhaksha performed all those austerities of Pumsavana, etc. and all those customary rites were performed, the priests were offered with an abundance of Dhakshina as per their desire. Lord Vishnu and deities were highly pleased to know that Jagadamba Bhavani Jagathjanani has already entered in the womb of Devi Virini, all the deities and sages praised the couple and prostrated before the Jagathjanani.  On the auspicious time, Thithi, Devi Virini gave birth to ShivA, everyone cheered at the birth of Devi, Bhagavathi.  Devi Virini and Dhakshaprajapathi transported to a state of ecstasy watching the loveliness and brilliance of the child. The three worlds revealed the sign of auspiciousness and bliss at the birth of the divine child, there was adequate rain, all the trees, plants, and creepers overloaded with flowers, there was divine melodious music reverberated in the sky, there was happiness all over the world.  Dhakshaprajapathi realized Jagathjanani, Paramba, Bhagavathi has taken birth as his daughter, he eulogized the infant with folded hands.”

Dhaksha eulogizes Devi Bhagavathi, Jagadamba, Jagathjanani “ Oh! Maheshani, Oh! Mother of the universe, Oh!Sanathani/primordial, kindly shower your auspicious grace on us. Oh! Mahadevi, you are absolute truth, you are bliss personified on the Earth. Oh! Devi, you symbolize auspiciousness, serenity, peace, Oh! Mahamaya, Oh! Yoganidra who undertakes cosmic sleep, Oh! Jaganmayi, you are all-pervasive, you represent Veda, and you are eulogized by Veda, Oh! Maheshani I shall repeatedly prostrate before you. Lord Bhrama instructed me to expand the creation, Oh! Maheshwari, Lord Vishnu was assigned with the preservation of the Universe and its living beings, Oh! Jagadhdhathri, Oh! Maheshwari,  Lord Shiva assigned to undertake the deluge at the end of Yuga. I shall repeatedly prostrate before you. Oh! Jagathjanani, you symbolize Rajas, Thamas, and Sathvik nature, you are the mother of the trinities/Bhrama, Vishnu, and Shiva, you are the source of Universe and its living beings, I shall repeatedly prostrate before you. Oh! Devi, you are beyond Vidya Avidya, you are the purifier of the souls, you are the provider of salvation from the repeated births. Oh! Jagathjanani, Oh! Bhavani, Oh! Jaganmatha, Oh! Ambike, whoever worships you would attain your auspicious grace.”

Lord Bhrama speaks “Oh! Narada, thus Dhakshaprajapathi eulogized the Jagathjanani with the brilliant verses, Goddess Bhavani was highly pleased with the devotion of Dhaksha, she spoke to him affectionately, which could be heard Dhaksha alone. Devi revealed her presence as the daughter of him as promised earlier and advised him to continue Tapasya. The supreme Goddess who has assumed the form of a beautiful infant started crying loudly, soon all the women and attendants of the Palace of Daksha assembled near Devi Virini. The women assembled before Devi Virini praised both the mother and child of their beauty. The entire Kingdom cheered at the birth of Jagathjanani as the daughter of Dhakshaprajapathi. The Kingdom reverberated with music, and dances, people became extremely happy. Dhakshaprajapathi conducted various traditional rites and offered an abundance of charities to the Bhramin.  The whole Kingdom celebrated the birth of the divine child with music and dances for several days.  Lord Hari, deities, Rishis, and Sages assembled to receive a glance of that divine child. They eulogized Jagathjanani with excellent verses and offered salutations to her. They praised Dhaksha and Devi Virini to attain Jagathjanani as their child. Lord Hari and deities advised Dhaksha to name the child ‘Uma’ who is the essence of virtues and auspiciousness. She was addressed in various sacred names, which could remove the miseries and sorrows of the worldly existence. Dhakshaprajapathi offered salutation to deities, Hari, Rishis, and Sages assembled, contemplated upon supreme Lord Shiva, returned to their respective abodes. All those Samskara/customary rites of the newly born child were performed in a grand manner; Devi Virni happily fed the child with her bosom milk. Thus, years have passed; Devi Uma was grown to a beautiful young maiden with excellent virtues, with an abundance of love and affection of Devi Virini and Daksha. Devi Uma engaged in various amusements with the girls of her age was a great devotee of Lord Shiva. She sung in praise of supreme Lord Mahadeva, she was grown keenly devoted to that supreme Lord Shiva. Thus, ShivA has grown up with excellent virtues and skilled in household chores, she highly pleased her parents with great love and devotion to them. ”

Rudra Samhitha/Sati Khanda – 13

||Om Nama: Shivaya||

Chapter –74  – Rudra Samhitha/Sati Khanda – 13

Maharishi Narada speaks “ Oh! Bhramavidhe, Oh! Mahaprajja, Oh! Prabho, kindly narrate that happened after Dhakshaprajapathi returned to his abode.”

Lord Bhrama speaks “Oh! Narada, Dhakshaprajapathi after returned to his abode immersed in the expansion of creation, found that the expansion of the creation is not working as the way all the deities were desired. He returned to me with anxiousness and complained about it further.”

Dhakshaprajapathi speaks “Oh! Bhramasthatha, Oh! Prajanatha, Oh! Prabho, the expansion of the creation is not progressing as the way we all have desired. What shall I do?  How can I increase the creation? Kindly advise me on this matter.”

Lord Bhrama speaks “Oh! Daksha, Oh! Prajapathi, listen to my words carefully, you contemplate upon that supreme Lord Shiva and undertake the creation. You have to accept Asikni the daughter of Panchajanasya, as a wedded wife. You will achieve beautiful daughters like her in the physical relationship/Maithunashrishti with her.”

Lord Bhrama speaks to Narada “Oh! Mune, Dhakshaprajapathi married Virini who is the daughter of Virana, and this couple began Maithunashrishti. The illustrious Haryashvas was born to this couple, they sincerely followed the Vedic path of living like their father, Haryashvas went to western regions to conduct Tapasya at the command of their father.  They have engaged in intense Tapasya on the beautiful location at the riverbank of Sindhu confluences with the river Narayana. The sacred river is the provider of supreme wisdom with a single touch on its water. The ascetics who were lived and performed Tapasya had achieved supreme wisdom and all their impurities were disappeared. The sons of Daksha performed extreme Tapasya on the shores of this beautiful lake.  You know all that happened after that, you went to meet the Haryashvas at the instruction of Lord Vishu to test their knowledge. You have asked them how could they perform creation without the knowledge of creatures, and many questions asked were unanswered by them, it stirred up anxiousness in them, immersed in various thoughts, circumambulated you, and never returned to the abode of Dhakshaprajapathi. Thus, they have proceeded further to achieve supreme wisdom.  Later, you have conducted various spiritual tours contemplating upon Lord Shiva, several years have passed, Dhakshaprajapathi came to know about his sons Haryashvas who abandoned the world and embraced asceticism at your advice. Dhakshaprajapathi was extremely raged at your judgment on Haryashva. I have pacified him saying that destiny cannot be rewritten, later he has thousands of sons from wife Panchajani/Asikni. These thousands of sons prepared to conduct Tapasya at the command of their father, went to the shores of Sindhu where Haryashvas conducted Tapasya and engaged in extreme austerities. These sons of Daksha became sinless at the touch of this sacred water, achieve the knowledge of supreme Bhramam, and undertook penance for a long period of time. You have influenced these thousands of sons of Dhaksha to follow the path of their elder brothers, and you have returned to your abode. Daksha could witness various inauspicious omens, understood that he has lost his thousands of sons who have followed the path of their elder brother, could not control grief, he collapsed. Daksha regained consciousness and in an extreme fury he cursed you.”

Dhakshaprajapathi lashed at Narada “Oh! Sage, you have performed Adhamavriththi, you have fooled my sons with the form of an ascetic, and you have compelled them to choose the Mokshamarga. You have forced them to become mendicants like you; it was not a fair deed from you. It has put a hindrance to the expansion of creation; your wicked deed caused trouble to the Universe without living beings. Oh! Sage, listen to me carefully, the son who discards his duties and responsibilities towards parents and embrace asceticism would fall into hell. Every child born with the Rinas, it is one of the debts owed to their own parents, leaving the parents uncared and living in recluse will not bring any Moksha. You have been cruel to me, you have destroyed the glories of our clan, you have inspired my sons to pursue the supreme Bhramam, and you are an ascetic wandering all over the world praising the glories of Lord Hari. Oh! Narada, you have brought immense grief with your wicked deed, therefore I curse you, and you cannot be stable in a place for a moment, you will keep wandering on your feet. You will be wandering all over the three worlds.” Thus, Dhakshaprajapathi who was besieged with the Maya of supreme Lord Shiva cursed Narada in extreme grief.

Lord Bhrama speaks “Oh! Vathsa, you have graciously accepted the curse of Dhakshaprajapathi. This is one of the uniqueness of the Sadhus who capable to accept even the curse as a boon, they take it as a boon to perform welfare to the Universe. You are a Bhramajjyani, you are sinless, and you have the knowledge of that supreme Bramham accepted as a boon and began journey all over the world to spread the true concept of ‘Bhakti’/devotion.”

Jagadamba Mahamaye Jagadheeshe Maheshwari | Kripam  Krithva  Namastheasthu Dharshathim Swvavapurmama || Praseedha Bhagavathadhye  Praseedha  Shivaroopini | Praseeda Bhakthavarade Jaganmaye  Namosthuthe || Jagadamba Mahamaye  Yadhi Thvam Varada Mama | Madhvacha: Shrunu Suprithya Mama Kamam Prapooraya ||

Maharishi Narada speaks “Oh! Bhrama, Oh! Shambhuvara, Oh! Mahaprajja, Bhagavan you have purified my life with the legends of the supreme Lord Shiva and Goddess ShivA. Oh! Prabho, kindly narrate how did Dhakshaprajapathi achieve Devi Paramba, Jagathjanani, Bhagavathi as his daughter? What was the boon received after extreme austerities and Tapasya?”

Lord Bhrama speaks “Oh! Narada, you are the fortunate one, you have achieved intense devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Shiva. I shall narrate the penance of Dhakshaprajapathi and how did he achieve that Jagathjanani as his daughter Sati. Dhakshaprajapathi undertook extreme Tapasya as per my advice, he reached on the northern shore of the milky ocean, and immersed in the veneration of Devi Paramba Bhagavathi and engaged in Tapasya. Daksha performed Tapasya for three thousand years, with utmost austerities and perfect control over sense. The entire years of Tapasya, he spent the days of austerities consuming leaves, water, fasting, and wind. Oh! Mune, in this way, he sincerely performed Tapasya for a long period of time. Devi Paramba Bhagavathi was highly pleased with the austerities and devotion of Dhaksha, she appeared before him, she was mounted on a lion, and has a dark color complexion, she has a stunning appearance, lovely face, four arms, two hands are in Abhaya and Varadha mudra posture, she was holding sword and lotus flower on the other two hands. Her beautiful eyes have the appearance of a red lotus flower, she has long and beautiful curly hair locks unkempt. Daksha reverentially prostrate before the Mother of the Universe and eulogized her.”

Daksha Prajapathi eulogizes Paramba Bhagavathi Jagathjanani “ Oh! Jagadamba/who is the mother of the universe and its living beings, Oh! Mahamaye who is the female force of trinities and illusion, Oh! Jagadheeshe who is the supreme Goddess of The universe, Oh! Maheshwari, kindly shower your auspicious grace on us. Oh! Bhagavathi I shall repeatedly prostrate before you. Oh! Shivaroopini, you are the provider of boons to your devotees, you are the protector of the devotees, Oh! Jaganmaye, I shall repeatedly prostrate before you.”

Lord Bhrama speaks to Narada “Oh! Mune, Jagathjannani was highly pleased with the praises of Dhaksha and revealed her willingness to offer a boon.”

Dhakshaprajapthi eulogizes “Oh! Bhagavathi, Paramba, Jagathjanani, if you are pleased with my devotion kindly offer a boon after listening to my prayers. Lord Shiva is my beloved deity; the supreme Lord Rudra who is the essence of Lord Shiva was initiated from the middle of the eyebrows of Bhrama. Oh! Janani, you have not yet incarnated on the Earth to be with that supreme Lord Shiva. You are the inseparable consort of Lord Shiva kindly personifies on the Earth and get married to Lord Shiva for the welfare of the Universe and its living beings. Oh! Devi, you are the inseparable consort of Lord Shiva, kindly take birth as my daughter and once again achieve that supreme Lord Shiva as your wedded husband. You both have to perform various passionate sports for the welfare of this Universe; it is the wish of Lord Bhrama, Vishnu, and Lord Shiva as well. It was Lord Bhrama who inspired me to conduct Tapasya and gratify you.”

Devi Jagathjanani affectionately spoke “Oh! Thatha, Oh! Prajapati, Oh! Daksha, I am pleased with your devotion, I shall take birth as your daughter and fulfill your desires and the deities as well. I shall make all the efforts to achieve that supreme Lord Sadhashiva who is worshiped by Lord Bhrama, Lord Vishnu, and deities, with my sincere devotion. I shall engage in extreme Tapsya to achieve that Lord Sadhashiva as my wedded husband, I am the inseparable part of supreme Lord Mahadeva, I have been that inseparable part of his life whenever he assumes various forms. Oh! Prajapati, return to your abode, I will be born as your daughter very soon. Oh! Prajapati, I shall perform the task you have requested to me, and keep one thing in your mind if I have to face any kinds of disrespect form you, I would discard the body that has assumed as the daughter of Prajapathi. ”

Lord Bhrama speaks to Narada “Oh! Mune, Thus, Maheshani disappeared from the sight of Daksha. He happily returned to his abode with the news of Jagathjanani, Paramba, Bhagavathi who have promised to be his daughter very soon.”

||Om Nama: Shivaya||

Chapter – 61 (1) – Rudra Samhitha/Sati Kanda – 1

Maharishi Narada speaks “Oh! Vidhe, you are an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. You have beautifully narrated various legends of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi, I am not satisfied to listening to it, wanted to listen to more glorious myths of supreme Lord Shiva. You have described the supreme Lord Rudra conducted extreme penance and austerities living in the Mount Kailash, Lord Shiva is supreme Yogi, he is worshiped by all the deities, he is pure, and he is free from passion. The Supreme Lord Shiva married Devi Parvathi who was Devi Sati in her previous birth, at the humble request of the deities, for the welfare of the Universe and its living beings. Devi Sati who was born to Daksha Prajapathi has sacrificed her life in Yogagni and took rebirth as Parvathi, the daughter of Mount Himavan. How did it happen? How did she attain that supreme Lord Shiva, an illustrious Yogi in marriage? Kindly narrate all those legends to me.”

Lord Bhrama speaks “ Oh! Thatha, Oh! Munishreshta, I shall describe those glorious legends which would bring Janmasaphlya/fruitfulness of life to the Jeeva. Earlier, I was got attracted to my mind-born daughter Devi Sandhya due to the intervention of Kamadeva who was born from my mind, later the Dharma born from my chest put a sudden halt to my passion for my daughter, shortly Lord Shiva who is supreme Yogi intervened and condemned my immoral act in front of my mind-born sons, eventually, the situation was brought under control by that supreme Lord and returned to his abode Mount Kailash. I have besieged with the Maya of supreme Lord Mahadeva and felt animosity against him, I have made all attempts to disrupt the penances and austerities of that Lord were miserably failed. Later, I sought after the advice of Lord Vishnu who is profound in the philosophies of Lord Shiva, removed my Maya and advised not to create hindrance to the Tapasya of that great Yogi, instead of contemplating the Jagathjanani, Paramba, Bhagavathi, Devi Adishakthi.”

Lord Bhrama continues “ Oh! Mune, I have worshiped Devi Chandika, and supreme Goddess instructed me to advise my son Dhakshaprajapathi to undertake Tapasya in order to achieve Jagathjanani, Bhagavathi as his daughter. Thus, Devi Sati who was born to Dhakshapajapathi was married to that supreme Lord Shiva, and the couple performed various passionate sports. Lord Rudra who is unblemished is the essence of knowledge proved himself as an ideal householder. Lord Rudra who is perfect Yogi was free from passion, undertook extreme Tapasya in the Mount Kailash and this couple had no progeny.  Dhakshaprajapathi was besieged with the Maya of Lord Shiva, became haughty and arrogant. He publicly humiliated that supreme Lord in a grand Yagna organized by him; all the deities were invited except Lord Shiva and Devi Sati.  All the deities traveled to the palace of Dhaksha in their own vehicles, Devi Sati became restless and wanted to participate in the Yagna, decided to leave Mount Kailash at her own will, was accompanied by the Shivaganas.  Daksha who was swollen with immense pride and arrogance was insulted his own daughter in the large assembly. She was not moved by any of the insults until she has noticed that the absence of Rudrabhaga for the supreme Lord in the Yagashala. She could not control her grief and the insult to her husband; she sacrificed her mortal coil in the Yoga Agni. The supreme Lord Devadevasha was extremely raged at this incident; he pulled out one strand from the matted hair locks and thrashed on the floor, a ferocious form of Veerabhadhra has appeared, Lord Shiva ordered Veerabhadhra to destroy the Yagna of Daksha. Soon Veerabhadhra and Ganas approached the Yagna arena and created huge havoc, burned the Yagnashala and ingredients of Yagna, emptied the Yagna arena, and chopped off the head of Daksha and shoved to the Yajjagni. Veerabhadhra returned to Lord and informed the destruction took place in the Yagna of Dhakshaprajapathi. The supreme Lord Rudra is unconquerable, the Veda and Smriti describe the fury of Lord Shiva as formidable. All the deities eulogized that supreme Lord and brought him back to serenity, the supreme Lord Shiva is approachable only with pure devotion. The supreme Lord restored peace in the world, continued austerities for several thousands of years, Dhakshaprajapathi was brought back to life, all those who were injured in the Yagna arena were pacified by that compassionate Lord, and the Yagna was completed successfully. The flame from the body parts of Devi Sati's fallen on the Earth became sacred Devi shrines. The flame that fallen on the top of the mountain is famously known as the shrine of Jwalamukhi, which is the sacred place that provides all the piousness and auspiciousness,  removes the sins, and fulfills all the desires of the worshiper. This flame is worshiped on the occasion of various ceremonial rites for fulfilling the desires of the worshiper. Thus, Devi Sati who was sacrificed her mortal coil took rebirth as Goddess Parvathi, she performed extreme austerities and Tapasya and attained Lord Shiva as a wedded husband. Oh! Mune, I have described the glorious myth of Devi Sati who was born as Goddess Parvathi, mere listening, or reciting the legend would remove the sins of the worshiper.”

She is Paramambhramam, she is pure, and she is Jagadhathri and beloved of Lord Shambhu. She is all-pervasive, she is eternal, she does not require a support system for her existence, she is unblemished, she is the mother of Trideva/Bhrama, Vishnu, and Shiva, I have worshiped that supreme Goddess who has Sthoola and Sooksharoopa/Saguna and Nirgunaswaroopam as well. she is Paramanandha who symbolizes supreme bliss resides as a soul in living beings, I have earnestly prayed to that supreme Goddess to shower her compassionate grace. Oh! Mune, soon Devi Chandika appeared before me from her Yoga Nidra. She has dark color complexion, attractive limbs, she has four arms, was seated on a lion, one of the hands in Varadamudra posture, she was adorned in pearl decorated ornaments; her curly long hair was unkempt. Her face has the luster of the autumn moon, she has three eyes, she has the most attractive appearance, and her sparkling nails on the lotus feet were spreading intense luster. Oh! Mune, after witnessing the divine form of Devi Shakthi, I have eulogized her in marvelous verses.”

Bhramasthuthi “Oh! Devi, I shall repeatedly prostrate before you.  Oh! Devi, you are the source of Pravriththi and Nivriththi Marga of the Jeeva, you are the creator and preserver of  the Universe and its living beings, you are the source of the ‘Shakthi’ of Chara and Achara/living and non-living things, Oh! Devi, you are eternal, changeless and you entice the whole Universe with your loveliness. Oh! Devi, you have assumed the form of Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi and married to Lord Vishnu, and protects the Universe and its living beings. You have assumed the form of Maheshi who is inseparable from Lord Maheshwara and absorbs the universe and its living beings at the end of Yuga. Oh! Devi, you are worshipped by all, Yogi’s constantly contemplates on you and you reside in their intellects. Oh! Devi, you are omnipresent, I shall prostrate before you, Oh! Devi, you reside in the hearts of Yogis and enlighten them and purify their souls. Oh! Devi, you have supreme radiance, that illuminates the whole Universe and its living beings. You are free from impurities like Raghadhvesha, you reside as a soul in living beings, you are all-pervasive, and you have countless forms. Oh! Devi, you are the essence of Trigunas, and you are beyond Gunas, you are the source of Trigunas in the Jeeva and perform various tasks. Oh! Devi, you perform the function of creation, preservation, and destruction as well. Oh! Devi, you are the source of Universe and its living beings, you are perceivable through wisdom, you are primordial, you are eternal, you are Shivapathni, I shall repeatedly prostrate before you.”

Devi Chandika speaks “Oh! Bhraman, what was the reason for praising me with those glorious verses, I am highly pleased with your devotion, therefore ask for the boon as you have desired. You will achieve success in all endeavors; I shall perform the entire task as you have desired in your mind.”

Lord Bhrama speaks “Oh! Devi,  Oh! Deveshi, Lord Shiva who was initiated as Rudra from the middle of my eye-brows. You are the knower of all; he is living in the Mount Kailash with the Ganas and engaged in extreme austerities and Tapasya. Oh! Devi, you have endless forms, you incarnate at your own will, Oh! Devi, Oh! Shive, kindly takes birth as the daughter of Dhakshaprajapathi and distract the attention of Lord Shiva who is a strict Vairagin. Oh! Deveshi, you are Lakshmi and Saraswathi as well, without a consort how Rudra could perform the tasks of the Universe? How did the expansion of the Universe take place? I am anxious about it; therefore you kindly incarnate as Devi Sati, daughter of Dhakshaprajathi, and receive Lord Shiva as your consort. Oh! Deveshi, Dhakshaprajapathi is already undertaking intense penance seated on the northern shore of the milky ocean, kindly shower your auspicious grace upon him.”

Devi speaks “Oh! Bhraman, you have profound knowledge in Veda and Vedantha,  you are the essence of Veda, you are the creator of the Universe how did you become overpowered by the Maya of the Lord? How did you expect me to distract that supreme ascetic who is engaged in extreme austerities and Tapasya? He is unconquerable, he is free from impurities, he is absolute Bhramam, I shall make all efforts to remain a sincere servant maid to that supreme Lord. He is flawless, he provides liberation from repeated births to Jeeva, he is Parameshwara, and he is Rudra and Shiva as well. He is a great Yogi; he is the Lord of Vishnu and Bhrama. Therefore, get yourself freed from the illusion that he is your son. I have already promised a boon to you, hence advice me what shall I do for you, ask for anything that does not displease that supreme Yogi. Oh! Bhraman, you are true, if the supreme Lord Shiva remains Vairagin, the welfare, auspiciousness, or expansion to the Universe will not take place. Therefore, I shall comply with your wish; I shall make all the efforts to make that Lord Shiva embrace Grihasthashrama like Goddess Lakshmi wedded to Lord Vishnu. I shall assume the form of Devi Sati born to Dhakshaprajapathi and I would strive hard to achieve the attention of that supreme Lord with my devotion.”

Lord Bhrama speaks to Narada “ Oh! Mune, Goddess Chandika was highly pleased with my devotion and disappeared from my sight. I have returned to my abode and explained the event to my mind-born sons.”

Chapter – 71 – Rudra Samhitha/Sati Kanda – 10

Shiva: Sarvasvakarththa Hi Bhartha Harththa Parathpara: | Parambhrama Parameshwarashcha Nirguno Nithya Yeva Cha || Anirdheshyo Nirvikara: Paramathma Adhvyayoacchyutha: | Ananthoanthakara; Swami Vyapaka: Parameshwara: || Shrishti Sthithi Vinashanam Krithi Thrigunabhagvibhu: | Bhrama Vishnu Maheshwarakhyo Raja:  Saththva Thama: Para: ||

Maharishi Narada speaks “ Oh! Bhraman, Oh! Vidhe, Oh! Mahabhaga, you are an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. Oh! Bhagavan, kindly narrate what happened to Kamadeva and Devi Rathi who was desirous to see the Lord as a flawless Grahastha, went to distract the penance of supreme Lord Mahadeva.”

Lord Bhrama speaks “ Oh! Narada, listen to the glorious myths of supreme Lord Shiva which would remove all the worldly interests of the Jeeva. Oh! Mune, I was desirous to see the Lord Shiva as a perfect Grihastha, I was immersed in deep thought, and planned to create obstacle in his penance was not worked well the way I have desired.  Kamadeva and Devi Rathi with their assistants were miserably failed in their attempts to entice the heart of the Lord Mahadeva. I have become restless thinking about, how did the supreme Yogi Lord Shiva would embrace Grihasthashrama? How did the trinities perform the functions of the expansion of creation? How could we perform the function of creation, preservation, and destruction of the Universe and its living beings? I have contemplated upon the supreme Lord Hari who is an ardent devotee of Lord Hara. I have prostrated before supreme Lord Hari, who is attired in majestic yellow silk garment, adorned in Vanamala, Kausthubha, and Srivathsa holds Shankha, Chakra, Gadha, Padma, has the complexion of dark rain clouds, I have eulogized him with marvelous verses, I have repeatedly prostrated before that Lord Hari who is Bhakthavathsala, destroyer of miseries, and sorrows of worldly existence.  Lord Hari was highly pleased and spoke “Oh! Vidhe, Oh! Bhraman, Oh! Mahaprajja, Oh! Lokakaraka, I would like to hear the reason for remembering me. Oh! Vidhe, what’s that bothering you? Kindly explain to me, I am well prepared to remove them all.”

Lord Bhrama speaks “ Oh! Devadeva, Oh! Ramanatha, you are a compassionate one, kindly listen to the reason for my grief, and eradicate the same. Oh! Vishno, I have sent Kamadeva along with Maraganas to entice the supreme Lord Mahadeva and create an obstruction to the penance of him. Oh! Bhagavan, the supreme Lord Shiva is a flawless Yogi, Kamadeva failed to create obstacles to the penance of that Lord.” Lord Vishnu who is a passionate devotee of Lord Mahadeva and has profound knowledge in the beliefs and philosophy of Lord Shiva spoke “ Oh! Bhraman, what was that compelled you to disrupt the penance of Lord Shiva? Tell me everything in detail.” Lord Bhrama speaks “Oh! Thatha, your Maya is unconquerable, none of the creatures is free from your powerful Maya which is the cause for pain and pleasure as well. I was besieged with the Maya of yours, forced to commit a sin, Oh! Devesha, I shall describe all that happened at your command, Oh! Bhagavan, it was the beginning of the creations, ten sons and daughter Sandhya was born out of my mind, Dharma from my heart and Kamadeva from my mind, and several living things were initiated from my limbs. Oh! Bhagavan, I was overpowered by the Maya immediately after the initiation of Kamadeva, I was conquered by his Maya, yearningly looked at the beauty of my mind-born daughter Sandhya. My sons and I was completely under the clutches of my mind-born son Kamadeva, all of us were captivated by the attractive limbs of Devi Sandhya, in fact, she was also tormented by the cupid arrows of Kamadeva, at that very moment Lord Shiva appeared before us and controlled the situation, he sharply criticized me for the misdemeanor and held me responsible for the embarrassing situation. Lord Mahadeva condemned for my behavior as a Lord of wisdom I have failed to obtain control over sense.  Rudra who is my son was initiated from the middle of my eyebrows openly disapproved my act, I would be happy to see him Grihastha, not like a Vairagin who always immerses in the Tapasya. Oh! Keshava, I shall take refuge at your lotus feet, you have to help me to clear my anxieties.” Lord Madhusoodhana spoke with a pleasing smile “Oh! Vidhe, Oh! Bhraman, you are the Lord of wisdom, you are the essence Veda, how did you overpower by the Maya of Lord Shiva? Therefore leave all your illusions and ignorance, you have considered Rudra as your son, you have considered that supreme Yogi as your son, it is your utter ignorance. He is Parameshwara who is omnipresent, he is eternal and changeless, and he has neither beginning nor end, Oh! Bhraman, you have profound knowledge in Veda, still, you believe that the supreme Lord is your son and you have prepared to settle scores with him. He is the Lord of The universe and its living beings, he is primordial deity. Oh! Vidhe,  he is the creator, preserver, and destroyer of the Universe, he has no impurities, and he is unblemished and serene. He is Parambhramam, he is beyond virtues, he is Shiva who symbolizes auspiciousness, and he is Parameshwara who is all-pervasive, resides as a soul in living beings. He is beyond description; he symbolizes Trigunas and Trinities as well.  He is beyond Maya, free from worldly desires, he is the Lord of Maya, and he is beyond Maya as well. He possesses Trigunas but remains unblemished. He is supreme bliss and he symbolizes asceticism.  He immerses in self, he is serene, he has no dual forms, he is supreme Lord, he is supreme Yogi, he is the source of the path of Yoga, and he enlightens the Yogis with the supreme knowledge of self. He is Lokesha who is the destroyer of pride in the Jeeva. He is Dheenavathsala who is the safest asylum of distressed Jeeva, He is supreme Lord who is Paramathma, Paramambhrama, and you have considered him as your son? Oh! Vidhe, leave your ignorance and take shelter in him, contemplate upon him and recite his sacred names definitely he would shower compassionate grace on you. If you are really desirous of the Lord should have a female companion and lead a life of Grihastha, conduct penance and pray to that supreme Lord Mahadeva. If he is pleased with your devotion, he would definitely fulfill your desire, hence advise Dhakshaprajapathi to conduct severe Tapasya, to achieve Jagadamba, Jagathjanani, Paramba, Bhagavathi /ShivA as his daughter, she is the inseparable consort of that supreme Lord Mahadeva. Oh! Vidhe, you have forgotten the advice of that supreme Lord, we both have initiated at his will, Maya of that supreme Lord is powerful. We have been initiated from that supreme Lord Mahadeva and his Shakthi, to perform certain tasks and we were assigned to perform the tasks of creation and preservation respectively. The Sagunaswaroopa Rudra is the essence of that supreme Lord Shiva who undertakes the function of destruction; Jagathjanani Devi Uma also has three forms, as Goddess Mahalakshmi, Goddess Saraswathi, and Goddess Sati who relentlessly serve the trinities. Oh! Vidhe, the supreme Lord Mahadeva incarnated as Rudra in Mount Kailash, he is Shiva who is Prajeshwara, and Devi Sati is the inseparable consort of him. Oh! Bhrama, therefore instructs your son Dhakshapajapthi to undertake penance to achieve that Jagathjanani, Paramaba, Bhagavathi, Devi Sati as his daughter.
